Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Exposing Scams, a community-powered fraud awareness platform.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Exposing Scams ("we", "us", "our", or "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Service. Exposing Scams is a community-powered fraud awareness platform — not a law-enforcement agency, court, or government authority — intended to help people research and verify identifiers (usernames, payment handles, websites, wallets, phone numbers, emails) before they transact. Information on the Service is submitted by users, is subject to moderation and verification, and is not guaranteed to be accurate. Always verify independently, and contact the appropriate authorities to report a crime.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement. Users between 13 and 18 must obtain a parent or legal guardian's permission.
3. Accounts & Display Names
You provide a real full name (kept private) and a separate public display name. Your display name is what appears on your reports and comments — it can be anything you choose and does not need to match your real name. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
4. User-Submitted Content
You are responsible for the reports, evidence, and comments you submit. You retain ownership of your submissions but grant Exposing Scams a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, moderate, and use that content to operate the Service. Do not post false, defamatory, or unlawful content. Submissions are moderated but not guaranteed accurate.
5. Mandatory Evidence
To protect innocent people and the integrity of the database, our system requires that every new scam report include at least one piece of supporting evidence — such as screenshots of chats or messages, payment receipts, invoices, transaction references, or relevant emails. A report submitted without evidence is rejected automatically and is never published. Submitted evidence is reviewed by moderators, may be redacted to protect private information, and may be removed if it violates these Terms.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) harass, threaten, or impersonate other users; (b) submit malicious files, malware, or viruses; (c) attempt to manipulate risk scores, votes, or moderation; (d) use automated scripts to scrape or spam the Service; (e) post content you know to be false. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or a permanent ban.
7. Moderation, Right of Reply & Disputes
Every report is reviewed by a moderator before it is published; publication is never automatic. Moderators may edit, hide, remove, verify, or change the status of a report based on the available evidence. As part of a thorough review, a moderator may — where feasible — contact the reported (accused) party using the identifiers and details in the report, giving that party a fair opportunity to respond and to submit their own evidence to counter the claim. If your report is questioned or disputed, we may request additional evidence or contact you through the in-app moderator inquiry thread, and you agree to respond truthfully. A report's status can change over time as new evidence arrives from either side.
8. Evidence Access & Premium
Some evidence files are available through pay-per-view access or a Pro subscription. Paid access is non-refundable once evidence is viewed, except where required by law. We may change pricing with reasonable notice.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service's design, logos, and original content are owned by Exposing Scams. You may not copy, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the Service without permission. Reported entity names and identifiers are factual data and are not claimed as our intellectual property.
10. No Liability
Exposing Scams provides information 'as is' and is not liable for decisions made based on community reports. We are not responsible for financial losses, reputational harm, or actions taken by third parties as a result of using the Service. Always conduct independent verification before transacting.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen, which removes your reports, evidence, and personal data.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Exposing Scams operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
